Housing Justice to aid homeless with shipping container homes
A charity has come up with a unique way to help homeless people. They have made use of shipping containers to construct homes for them.
This particular charity was flooded with enquiries after this idea was featured in ‘Inside Housing.’ The charity has already found support in the form of Apollo Property Services Group, which has agreed to donate 10 containers to homeless charity ‘Housing Justice.’ According to Sally Leigh – co-ordinator for Housing Justice – the response to this particular project has been favourable. Sally also said that this approach, with the right amount of resources, can help those people who otherwise have no homes.
This particular project is extremely cost-effective and is a viable opportunity. The nature of the project can prove helpful to individuals who sleep on the streets.
The charity has arranged a trip to examine the containers in Trinity Buoy Wharf, along with a group of architects and a private developer. Housing Justice has decided to collect funds for other schemes.
