Further information:
These containers are not generally internally lined.
Fork-lift pockets are often available to assist in moving the container.
Floors are usually either made up of longitudinal hardwood planks or of marine grade plywood sheets.
These containers come in two varieties : shipping use & storage use only.
Storage containers that are second-hand and cannot be used for shipping
Shipping containers are as new and comply with full ISO & CSC regulations.
They can also be used for static storage purposes.
New and second-hand containers are available from stock.
Containers are supplied either in the original colour or we can repaint them to customer specifications. Many domestic customers have their containers repainted to reduce the environmental impact and blend into their surroundings as far as possible. All marine freight containers are designed to sit on the four square castings in each corner. We recommended that containers are sited on hard standing where possible. For soft ground use we recommend concrete bases are installed at each corner location or alternatively place each end on an 8' railway sleeper or similar support. When positioning it is important to make sure the container sits level opposite corner to corner to stop the frame twisting, which can make the doors difficult to open and close. Drivers of our delivering vehicles are highly experienced at positioning containers correctly, and will check they are level before leaving site.
